Try a different USB port on your computer.

Unjailbreak it and take it to Apple. Oh, before that, try to call them.

Unjailbreak the iPod by restoring it to the default firmware in iTunes btw.

Try a different USB port/wall charger/cable. Ifd that dosen't work then you may have a hardware issue and if so it's probably the dock connector or ribbon cable.

Is your device jailbroken? If not then just take it to apple. If it is then try holding the home button for ten seconds then plug your ipod in while holding the home button. and continue holding and then your iPod should be recognised then just restore back to factory settings then take it apple.
