Hi everybody, I've been trying for the longest time to fix my itouch (to no avail). I've tried restoring several times, jailbreaking different firmwares, and resetting every way I can numerous times. So I decided to post on a forum to see if someone could help me. The touch screen is 99% unresponsive. The 1% it works is when it's seconds from dying. I've looked up similar problems people have had with their itouch. One person had just a burnt resistor that was causing the same problem. But I opened it up to find nothing burnt or seeming to be out of place. It looks like it's been repaired a few times (I bought it off of Ebay), because it's missing a few screws on the inside, and has a replacement battery. I thought it was a broken digitizer, but why would it work when it's about to die? Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, your warranty is void because you opened your iPod. If I were you, I would try replacing the screen of your iPod (I may be wrong so wait for other members to reply to this thread). You can find many websites that will replace your screen on google.

I think you are right, maybe it is the digitizer.

I didn't have a warranty anyway so....yeah lol. The lcd seems fine. No dead pixels, nothing. I think I'll try getting a new digitizer, and see what happens then. Thanks guys

A lighter? That sounds like a bad idea...

Good idea, while you're at it, try putting your iPod in the Toaster, then smacking it with a mallet.

    /sarcasm

EDIT: Just realized this thread is 3 days old....Sorry modz.
