i got an ipod touch recently and for some reason my ipod seems to reboot my computer. When i plug it in my computer makes a ding noise so i know my computer recognizes the ipod. then i get a message that says New Hardware found Apple Recovery (iboot) USB Driver. Soon after the message my computer reboots. I've uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it about 9 times and it still doesn't work. I downgraded from itunes 7.5 to 7.4.3 and it still doesn't work. I have windows xp and was wondering if anybody could help. I've already been on the phone with apple technical support for about a total of 9 hours and they are no help at all. They keep telling me to do the same exact things that don't work.

    when did it start ?
has it always done this ?
    restart pc
    and different usb port
try it on another pc to insure it's not the touch
causing the problem nott the pc

if problem didn't exsist before and touch was connecting properly at earlier date
try a system restore on pc to a earlier date
