ipod touch on an EDGE or EVDO network

  1. recently amazon.com has released it ebook reader, Kindle.

    Kindle connects to an EDGE network I think, or maybe its EVDO, regaurdless of which one it does, would it be possible to connect the iPOT to one of those to use anything that needs the internet anywhere?

    no because the touch does not have 3G capabilities
  4. EVDO is verizons version of EDGE
    and theoretically, would 3G capabilities require a software or hardware mod?

    I don't know. That's not really the same thing. If you already have a phone with 3G, why would you want to get a touch. It's just bridging the connection from the phone. I guess it would work if you don't mind carrying both a phone and the touch around.
