I used Cyw00d and made it all the way to step seven. After I typed in go, and /exit, my ipod touch became non responsive and the command prompt would only flash extremely fast when I tried to redo the step. Now, my computer will not recognize my ipod and my ipod is completly unresponsive. It will not even turn on to the apple logo. It just stays black. Can someone please give me some help?

Go into DFU mode, restore and try again.

Try a different tool, like Voltage. I tryed cyw00d, then encountered the same problem as you, then used Voltage and, Vualah, jailbreak.

thanks for all your help! I figured out the problem, I was not in DFU mode like I thought I was. I downloaded the DFU helper and got into DFU.....itunes immediately picked it up. I am going to restore it and try one of the other suggested jalibreak apps
