My iPod touch does not respond to my touch sometimes, I wonder what's wrong? Any one experienced the same thing? Any advice?

Are there any parts of the screen that don't respond?

    Or it is just random?

There were some touch issues in early models.

What are the first five digits of your ipod serial number?

I'm having the same problem. I wanted to restore my iPod and kept getting the "iPod could not be restored error" but now I've noticed that the touchpad doesn't work at all. I'm guessing it's been restored because I'm getting the Earth picture when I turn it on (as opposed to what I use to have) but I can't get the slider to move.

found this probably won't help but it's cool to see how the touch screen works

speaks of signal or voltage going through touch screen when screen is touched it changes the signal or voltage which identifies the point of contact

if you place your finger in your shirt or cloth and touch screen you get nothing as
i am assuming the screen use the natural current created by the body to detect change

if you have a screen protector on remove it and give it or callous rough fingers
