I'm running OS X 10.5.4 on my Dell E310. The OS works fine and so do my USB ports, but as of today (worked fine before), nothing happens when I plug in my iPod. No sign of charging or connecting on either end is shown. I've tried three different USB cables and I've tested the USB ports with my external hard drive. I'm lost, and beyond screwed if this is unfixable, since I just formatted my hard drive and my music is only currently on my iPod. If you can help...I will give you...a high five.

    Thanks

    Quick question: 1st or 2nd-generation?

So when you plug it in, your computer doesn't even detect it as a camera? It should if you're running Firmware 2.0 or higher because you can take screenshots and your computer detects these as pictures.

Nope. It doesn't show any sign of it being connected at all.
