ipod touch no backlight & wont restore

    i bought a ipod touch 8gb i noticed it works but there is no backlight? i have tryed going into settings and adjusting brightness and also tryed restoring through itunes too 1.1.1 by holding home and power for 10 secs then home to force it into restore mode but iphone wont update with latest itunes i get connection error 1602 i have also tryed a older version of itunes it sees the ipod but wont update and i get a error 1? i dont know whats up with it but i just cant seems to get it restored? the firmware on it currently is 2.2.1 anyone help please i tryed another pc but just same connection error?

    do a dfu restore

    i have tryed dfu restore but just keep getting errors been trying to restore it for last 3 days and so far not got it to restore

    then erturn it to apple. its your only hope

    it is the Apple iPod touch 8GB (MA623Z0) i bought it 2nd hand.

    The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1602)

    looked on apple site but cant seems to sort out whats the problem, i tryed a diffrent pc and diffrent itunes 7.0 then latest ?

    try reinstalling iTunes

    tryed reinstalling itunes but still the same, just hopeing there is somethink else that maybe would work.

    it could be hardware...but if he gets errors when restoring then it might be software. are you sure you cant dfu? cuz i did had to dfu my ipod ant it took a long time and i tried many times and it finally worked.
