I have a second generation iPod Touch and it was initially jailbroken through Cywood and then re-jailbroken without restoring through QuickFreedom(I think?). It's been going back and forth between iTunes recognizing it and iTunes not. THe last couple of days it hasn't been recognizing it and today it decided to. It begins to sync, all my music and videos seem to be wiped, but remain on the iPod and are now under the category of 'Other'.

I really don't want to restore my iPod, is there anything I can do to just delete the misplaced files?

    Thanks in advance

    Alex

Are you sure that's the only way? There's no explanation for what had happened and where the files might be? That's truly the last thing I want to do, it would take months to get back everything on my iPod.

Well, if it is jailbroken then you can simply connect via ssh and delete all contents in Music folder.

They're not there though, as far as I know. They got moved elsewhere, the iPod ceases to recognize them even though they still exist somewhere within the iPod.

They could appear only inside Music folder (unless you're using some weird 3rd party manager software). And they're not recognized because your database seems to lose references to them.
