Hi, is there anyway to load different iphone OS versions onto two separate partitions on an ipod touch 2G? Then install a boot loader to boot between the two? For example I would have my jailbroken 3.0 OS on one partition and the 3.1 beta on the other. Is there anyway to do this? Thanks.

You could only do that with 1.1.4, and dualboot 1.1.1. (and risk destroying your iPod)

I think there was a very risky way of doing this back in 1.1.x, but I dunno about 3.x....
Ask gojohnnyboi, I think he made a thread about it in the past.

I don't think this is possible.

I am new to the ipod touch scene and it seems kind of odd to me that nobody has pursued this. Is there a specific reason that makes this goal difficult?

OK well if Linux has been ported to the touch i mean there must be some knowledge of partitioning and bootloaders. But I mean I guess if nobody has figured it out, nobody figured it out.

Is it possible if I try the 3.1 beta and don't like it, can I downgrade back to 3.0 and still have the possibility to jailbreak it again?

Appman are there any specific instructions on how to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0 or is it as simple as enter DFU and use itunes to restore the 3.0 os?
