Okay, my friend's iPod Touch 2G jailbreak is also just showing a black screen. I used redsn0w, followed all the instructions, it said it was jailbreaking, but now it just has a black screen on the iPod!

EDIT: redsn0w quits after it has finished doing the counting down and putting your ipod into DFU mode. Please help!

ok open Itunes and see if it is detected in DFU
Your ipod should have had the Quickpwn Bar come up and show the pineapple while it jailbreaks. If it is unresponsive just DFU restore. Next time make sure the ipod has sufficient space left for the jailbreak. It cannot be near full

Nope. I put it into DFU mode. This time, used QuickFreedom, created the custom firmware, i had LibUSB installed and everything was fine, but when it starts making the firmware, it gets an error. Please please please help!

I think I might just have to make a custom firmware and restore using the cusotm firmware in iTunes. But I can't find anything to make the custom firmware apart form Quickfreedom
