You guys just need to put your iDevice into DFU and then restore as wynd has said twice now......

Hold both power and home button down for 10 seconds while plugging it into the computer at the same time, and then after ten seconds without letting go of home let go of power and hold home for 10 seconds then iTunes says it is connected in dfu or something like that, then restore.

    That is dfu, do it.

Why ask for help if you're not going to listen to what others tell you? Wynd said DFU two times. If you don't know what that is or how to do it, then you could have just Googled it, instead of making Wynd say the same exact thing again. Hell, you could have even used the search function up above.

If that worked, I wouldn't be writing this either!!! Have tried DFU 60 times and it will NOT restore. The IPod touch 1st gen 16gb has never been dropped nor has it hardly ever been used. I just took it out of the box after about a year, tried to sync w/itunes and it will not recognize my ipod. NOT MATTER WHAT I DO! The picture of the CD w/the musical note, the arrow directly under that, with the connector directly under the arrow will not go away. Does anyone have a decent answer without thinking I'm ignorant and then insult. Last resort before throwing it in front of a semi.
