OK so i have an ipod touch 1g firmware 2.2 and jailbroken. if you plug it in the usb on the computer it charges then the apple screen comes up and stays untill i unplug it then the died battery logo comes up. also i am not able to charge it you have to connect it to the usb then wait for the charging symbol to go away then its stuck at the apple screen. Ive tried everything to get it to work but now success.

Whoa...u lost me there. It sounds like it won't go past the apple logo, like the title says. If that's the case just DFU restore.

You have to be doing it wrong. DFU always works, unless the hardware has been physically damaged.

Turn it off and plug it in and hold the home button until it goes into restore mode.
