During the firmware update to 3.0 for the iTouch it failed because my iTunes was not updated to match with the firmware.

I updated my iTunes but totally forgot to restore my Touch.
Now my iTunes is up to date and my Touch is stuck in restore mode.
And every time I connect my Touch to my computer, iTunes opens up but I can't see the device itself.

I've read up on some other forums and I saw something like "DFU"

I've tried the necessary procedure, but now my Touch screen is black.
After repeating the steps numerous amount of times, there is no result.

However, there is a beep from the computer saying that the device is recognized, but I can't manage to locate the device anywhere.

I never jailbreaked my Touch before.
I've tried restarting my computer, reinstalling iTunes, using different USB port, but no luck at all.
    Please help.

you have posted an almost exact same problem in a different thread. please stick to one.

As for DFU, the screen is meant to stay black, the prupose of it is to restore and not encounter problems without the firmware interfering. You know need to restore your ipod in itunes

I'm sorry, I did not meant to repost.
However, I had one problem that was not solved but led to another.

    My first problem was:
I was trying to upgrade my Touch but iTunes was an older version.
So I upgraded my iTunes and now it doesn't even recognizes the device.
Strangely, every time I connect the Touch, iTunes opens up, and on the touch screen, there was a picture of a USB cord coming from the bottom to "iTunes"

And then later on, when I registered into this forum, people mentioned about DFU mode.
So I decided to try it out but got no luck with it.
Screen now stays black and undergoes the same problem.
