Ipod touch not turning on and home button not working?

Ok so I have an iPod Touch 2G, Jailbroken (tethered) with 2.2 Firmware. The home button was not working and my brother turned the iPod off. Now I can't normally reboot because of the tethered jailbreak. I tried going to DFU mode but it requires using the home button. Now I can't really use my iPod.

What could I do to fix this?

if the home button doesn't work then you wont be able to use it even if you can get it to turn on. when you open an app you would be stuck there. just fix your home button and re-jailbreak. thats all i can tell you.

You mean you broke your home button, and it is stuck in DFU mode?

This occurs when switch off ur jailbroken ipod (in thethered cases) and try to switch it on.
1)Just switch on ur speakers so that u r able to hear sound
    2) this is similar to dfu: hold both power and home screen buttons. after 10 sec leave the power button (whether u hear a sound or not) and keep pressing home button till u hear a sound(it may take 30 sec) if u dont hear the sound try again.
    3) U'll hear a sound that means ur pc recognised ur ipod. Now itunes will appear. click on shift+restore. browse for ur ipod firmware and select ok.
    4) ur ipod will restore to original setting(will start working) and will not be jailbroken anymore
    5) now u can jailbreak if u wish

i dont think the home button is broken, you have to be exact with the timing thats all

get you windows clock up, double click clock and time yourself to the exact amount of time

    10 secs home + power
    8 secs home

repeat 5 times and if that doesnt work, which is should do, then new ipod as you have a warrenty voided ipod and apple wont fix it for you

think theirs something called xiphone or something, made for iphone and puts ipod into dfu from what i heard, it works on touch apparently, try that
