Ok so sometimes my Home Button doesn't register presses or registers to many.

On iOS3 this was not a big deal, but on iOS4 it is. I press once to quit an app, I press twice to open the multitasking bar and I press thrice to invert the colors ('cause its cool).

So, I'm using Safari, and I read about an app, and press my Home Button twice to switch to the App Store to find it, and instead it quits Safari. Or I press it twice to open the bar and it opens then closes.

*Ugh* Can you see my frustration?

I've had this issue since I got the iPod, but just lived with it, but now I am fed up. I checked on Apple's site and I am under warranty, and plan to take it to the Apple Store.

Has anyone else had this issue? And do you think they'll do anything for me?

I've restored, DFU restored, and upgraded firmwares and all that.

It's been dropped like a foot on to the rug when unrolling my headphones, but the problem has existed since I took it out of the box.

However, I'm afraid they may not believe me.

If you still have warranty, I'd bring it into the Apple store. I've dropped my iPod 2 feet onto concrete (Slipped out of my hand, chipped, really small, the black frame, 1G) . It didn't register abuse with Apple (yes, there is some mechanism in the device that finds this out). But if it's one foot on to run once, then it shouldn't be a problem. Bring it to Apple. If it's been that way since you got it, it probably is a hardware problem. Either way, if the Genius can't fix it, you get a shiny new refurb.

    Great thanks guys!

I know to restore to get rid of any traces of a jailbreak, but if I want to be 100% safe, is there anything weird I should do.

Not just restore, you need to DFU.

Also, when you walk into the apple store, make sure you have a banana necklace.

    Yes, a real banana.

    Yeah, I'll DFU it.

Anyone know how to tell if the abuse sensor has been tripped?

I kinda doubt there is an "Abuse sensor".

If there is, treating your touch with tender loving care (Cradling it, ect) should reverse the sensor.

    Success!

Went to the Apple Store, and they gave me a new one, no questions asked.

They said because I trusted them with my money and bought their superior product, they would give me a new one.

AND it has 4.0 blobs on Cydia!
