HI recently I got a new ipod touch 3G 32 GB
My home wifi is using Linksys wireless G router

Originally I had an ipod touch 3G 8GB and I can use my home wifi even if I am downstairs

but after I used my new ipod touch I cannot detect any signal unless my ipod touch is right next to the router

I did not change my router settings
so what is the problem here?

this is unusual. it MAY be a hardware issue, but there's no other symptom since you cant connect to wifi. this may seem odd, but if there's a case on it, it MAY be interfering with the signal. I HIGHLY doubt it, but that is a possibility. luckily, it's new, and if it doesn't work, take it back to Apple and have it replaced.

Try turning Wifi on and on and also reset the network settings and go downstairs to see if it would detect it.
