My ipod touch seems to have a mind of it's own at the moment as it seems to have a really sensative screen and when i play music it changes tacks by itself. I have also noticed that if you press the hold/power button the volume changes.

Please can any help me with this problem.

This to me seems like a software issue. Try to reboot your iPod by holding down the power button (on top of the device) to see if that works. If you can't do that (because it keeps adjusting volume) plug your iPod back into iTunes and Restore it. Kinda stinks to have to add all of your media again, but it should fix everything.

just update the software & firmware to os 4.0.2 but it's still got a mind of it's own. I can't see any signs of water damage.

    Any more idea's?

Have you tried performing an exorcism on it?

Mine has volume issues as well. The down volume button doesn't work all the time so I have to go into music to turn it down but when I leave it it just goes back up again. Also a few weeks ago the volume had a mind of it's own and it would just change the volume level randomly or go all the way down or all the up unexpectedly.

It goes back to normal sometimes. I think it might be water damage from sweat when I run.

i say restore... to check for water damage, look down the headphone jack. make sure that some sort of light is illuminating it. there should either be a white or pinkish colored thing (litmus paper) at the bottom. pink means its been in water, and white means its ok
