Hi! I've looked around and seen lots of different genius related issues but nothing that helped me. I have a first gen iPod touch updated to 2.2 n iTunes 8. Genius works on iTunes and worked on ipod after updating to 2.1 but not now after updating to 2.2...any ideas on what to do?

any way of doing it without having to put all my music back on?
i manually manage my media, bc its not in my itunes, but on an external.

are you sure you dont have genius turned off in itunes? did you update your genius like i said? a restore will most likely not fix it anyway

haha im glad i didn't try restore then!

yeah i made sure it was on in iTunes, and did the genius update...
i even tried turning genius off, restarting, then turning it back and and updating again, then syncing...no go...

my only guess is that because my ipod music isn't in itunes, it isn't be sent to genius...

so the songs that your trying to run genius with is on your ipod but not in itunes? if so then that is your problem, itunes downloads genius results to your library, then when you sync your ipod it transfers the genius data to that, meaning it does not use wifi on your ipod to update genius.
