OK, so i was washing some dishes and listening to my ipod...i accidentally knocked it in a bowl of water, i grabbed it out within 3 seconds, and it was still on, i tried to shut it off, but because my fingers were wet, i couldn't slide the slider! after about 7 seconds, the screen went white then it turned off, i quickly pried it open and cleaned out some water, and then hit it with a blow dryer for a few minutes. I haven't turned it on, i plan on waiting over night to try that. What do you think is wrong, and how could i fix it? How much would it cost if i took it to the apple store to fix it? and if i did take it to apple, can i be sure all my personal info left in limbo on my ipod will be safe?

    all help appreciated!
    Thanks!

Honestly, I dont know how good the chances are if it was on while it got wet. I recommend keeping it in some rice overnight.

I never wash dishes with iPod, tough luck.
Take to Apple and see or try to turn it on.
    That rice idea sounds good.

yes use rice! I talked to a apple rep. once asking what I need to do if my iPod ever gets wet. And he said put it in rice. He said he has droped his iPod touch in water! His screen went wite. Put it in rice for a nite and the next day it was just like new & clean! DO NOT TURN IT ON!

Thanks guys, I had thought about rice, even recommended to others before, i just wasn't sure if it would work because of the screen going white and all...BUT now because of starboom's story, i see it is possible nothing is fried.

THANKS GUYS! will report back with a status update in 24hrs!

Rice absorbs water right? Anyway, just make sure you dont get any rice in little cracks and holes.
