    Hey guys,
My wi-fi is down and I really need SMBPrefs (summerBoard), but more than that I need it to be compatable with FW 1.1.1. So someone gave me a link to download a version of SMB and All was going smoothly. I used iPhoneBrowser to get into my touch and Placed the application in the right spot, the framework and then this

    com.apple.springboard

    the instructions were to

    "com.apple.SpringBoard.plist -> /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist

Make sure that the plists permissions are as such:

    -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 704 Oct 9 20:00 com.apple.SpringBoard.plist

    Reboot iPhone, enjoy!"

So I know where to put the com.apple.SpringBoard but not how to change permissions to -rw-r--r--. I tried changing them to 755 and then I got the constant apple ogo of death. So I changed them back and it started up but no SMBPrefs.

As a side note, When I used theGiven com.apple.springboard that came with the 1.1.1 SB kit and dont change permissions the SPring Board Works but there is no back background, it uses the background from my slide to unlock image.

So right now when I open the app (yes its there on the SB) All I get is the default.png for about 15 seconds ten it crashes back to SpringBoard.

Any idea o how to change the perissions to get this to work.

NOTE: I will be giving out reputation points to any who are helpful!!

    You're completely off.

SMBPrefs is a application and thus goes into the application folder. What you're changing should not be hampered with. So put your 1.1.1 SMBPrefs into the Applications folder in var and set permissions if you have to after.

Yeah I knw that, I put SMB Prefs in the apps folder but its more than that. Im about 90% sure that SMB prefs actually modifys the SB. So that why I have the icon on my dock, because I put the in the app folder.

If the full instructions will help here they are.

Ah I see what you mean.

There is a Summerboard (Old) repo around where you can skip all this. I'll see what I can do.

thx appreciate it,but if anyone does have a fix please post it her.

Though a Summerboard old repo works just as well I would like to know how to do this for future refrence.

I can't seem to find it now! I came across it accidentally, but now that I look for it, I can't find it.
