So im considering buying an Ipod Touch. I just wanna know if the Touch is only compatible with Ipod earphones, or can I use earphones of other brands. The reason I'm asking is that no offense, but the Ipod earphones stink. Thanks

of course you can use other brand earphones

as long as it is a 3.5 mm headphone plug, then it will work

Yeah you can use other brands, but the ipod headphones aren't that bad. I'll admit there are a lot of cool blue-tooth headsets and stuff like that. But if you've used some of the headphones I have, you'd completely change your mind. Just my 2 cents

Kinda, if impedence is too high for the iPod or if the sensitivity is too low then it won't have enough power. But a user who is looking for some headphones under <$200 won't have to worry about that.

aiight thanks, I heard somewhere sometime that a certain kind of Ipod is not compatible with any other types of earphones and that kinda freaked me out. Come to think of it, it might be the new talking Ipod.

That's true, Apple has a chip to prevent third party headphones using the remote control.
