i even went to an apple store and had the apple guy look at it and he restored it and told me to delete the 3.0 file but that did nothing. i can reboot it but i just want to update. i've jailbroken it before but the apple guy deleted it (he didn't know! ) but i want 3.0 and i'm really impatient after waiting for three weeks (or something like that). Can anyone HELP ME?

What firmware are you at now, and you want to update to 3.0?

Restore 2.2.1 again, then update to 3.0. If that doesn't work then put your iPod into DFU restore mode (if it goes into recovery mode you messed up) and then update to 3.0.

Just a warning though, 3.0 is causing me and a lot of people many problems. I'd wait till 3.1 if I were you.

I suggest you download the firmware from the net then, and Shift + Click restore.

i got this error when i was trying to upgrade to a custom ipsw, when i searched for solutions they said try changing USB ports, but it didnt work. i later found out that it was because i was using a PPC mac, so if anyone is having this problem on a mac, that might be the reason.
