I purchased a Apple Universal Dock to go with my iPod Touch, now usually when i get home from work i take it straight out of my pocket and place it on the dock.

    Great.... or is it..?

I am curious to whether I am damaging the battery by keeping it plugged in all evening?

Will it have any effect or am i just worrying too much about my new toy!

funny you say that. I had the same thought. I didnt want to place my touch on the dock to charge over night....dont want to fry it. But I think it should be fine.

no.....just thinking that I didnt want to keep the ipod plugged in for too long of a time and reduce the battery life in the long run...or damage the battery in any way

Ok. I don't think this is an issue. Or I have never heard of it. Mine is plugged in 90% of the time... even when I'm using it in front of the pc.

Exactly, I've never heard of a dock frying an iPod, i am just concerned that i will be damaging the battery by keeping it plugged in for long periods every evening.

Actually keeping the Touch charged up will help maintain the battery life over time. What kills your battery is frequently and fully discharging the battery. By keeping the charge level "topped off" you'll get better battery life.
