hello i have followed ipodtouchmasters tut. on how to download cute ftp but when he says to enter your ip adress and username:root Password:alpine and i press connect this pops up :

The remote host actively refused the attempt to connect to it.
    1) Please verify that the destination host name or IP address is correct.
    2) Verify that the connection port number is correct (under Site Settings | Type tab).
    3) The remote server may be temporarily or permanently inaccessible (try again later).
    4) Verify that you have chosen the right protocol (SSH2, SSL, FTP, etc.) and have setup all required options for that protocol.

can someone please reply and help me out i will donate to who ever helps me out thanks

    well this might help:
    go to file
    pick SSH2
    Host: root
    Password: alpine
    Port: 22
    click enter
you should have on your iTouch "netservices" installed
(if not, go to installer and press "all packages" and look for "netservices"
    that should be loaded
once installed look for it on you itouch icons and click on it and look for your ip address. Sometimes it changes when you load programs and apps so it may not always be the same ip address.
get the ip address and put it in as your host and hopefully that'll work. good luck.

    Hee,
I have the same problem, and i downloaded Netservices, found the Ipod's IP
but i still get the same message:
The remote host actively refused the attempt to connect to it.

Same problem here, used to work fine on 1.1.2, updated & JB (ziphone) yesterday, reinstalled OpenSSH, installed services to make sure it's on, IP ok, but alwyes the same error.. double and triple-checked everything, no idea what's wrong!
Btw, I noticed quite a few posts about SSH problems around here, maybe there IS some kind of problem after all..?

is your computer using the same WiFi as your iPod?
if not, SSH cannot be done
