My iPod Touch 1G (yep, old) is most definitely bricked. DFU-Mode restores do not work. The iPod does not boot up. So my question is: would anyone know if flashing the iPod would work - or any hard mods?

    Cheers

It is impossible for an Ipod Touch to be (software)'bricked'.

If your ipod is in the state you claim it to be, it is hardware related.

Yep, it's either physically broken, or you are doing DFU wrong.

It does not boot. it powers on (back light comes on) but that is all.

Anyway to 'fix' the hardware problem (if it is fixable)

Sounds like it's stuck in a DFU loop... can you restore? If no try kicking it out of DFU with a third party tool. If that doesn'T wırk then it's a hardware fault.
