i charged my ipod all last night then unplugged it this morning and let it sit there for 3-4 hrs and see if it actually drains and it does, when i took it off the charging cord after 3 hrs it drained to 50% and nobody used it, should i send it in to get it fixed as it is still under warranty.

Yes, send it in. And you didn't need to make another thread.

this is the same thing what happening too my 16gb 2g ipod touch...

leave it overnight and when i go too used it, its already down too 50% or lower..

this started happening about 2 months ago and i even sent it back too wallmart warranty service and they said they replaced the battery than the screen which was not needed and the headphone jack which was also not needed...

i don't even think they replace the battery and got it confuse with someone else ipod touch..

it seems a bit better sense i got it back but still not normal like it used too be, i could leave it sit about a week and i still have around 40 or 50% left.. now its over night.

was thinking of sending it back in or might just wait for the ipod touch 4..

Wow, what horrible advice given. It isn't your device that's the problem, it's 4.0. I can assure you that the 4.1 betas have fixed the battery life problem.

For now, put the device in "Airplane Mode" everytime you're not using it. Also, make sure there are no apps running in the background (multitasking). Delete the process by holding down the icon and tapping the minus sign.

If its true, then you are lucky there, bro.

Mine drains like crazy and results in an almost daily charge nowadays. Hope the firmware update really will fix this inconvenient issue, ASAP!
