    so, I got my new toy, the 2g touch today...

    In my excitement in ordering it, I completely forgot about the lack of support for java.

    My school has an internet filter in which you must log on. After logging on, there is a small popup window that contains an "Authentication Applet" that is a java applet, uses java, something like that.

    Obviously the 2g is not jailbroken yet, but, in previous jailbroken verisons, was it possible to run a basic java web applet on safari? and does it sound like it would work to have the popup, and then open other applications and still continue to be authenticated? Obviously some of these questions may not be answerable, but I would like to know if the first one is possible.

    I appreciate the help and patience.

    I think you would get a better solution in the iPod Touch 2G section. ^^;

    I thought that as well, but, since it hasn't been jailbroken yet, I can only know about previous versions.

    Basically, is it possible for a jailbroken iPod touch to run web-based java applets?
