So, I bought this iPod Touch 8GB 3G MC-model from apple.com for about 2-3 months ago.

I jailbroke it with blackra1n, worked fine until a week ago where it froze and turned off my iPod Touch.
So I restored and tried to re-jailbreak it, worked almost fine, but the jailbreak didn't finish (don't know why).
After that I couldn't restore the iPod Touch anymore, because it gives me an error 6 on iTunes.

I even tried to go into DFU mode and select the .ipsw file from C:\Users\Kadir\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates - didn't work.

    So any suggestions?

P.S. - The .ipsw file is named iPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw and that's for a 2G right? But a lot of people says mine is a 3G, but can't restore with a 3G firmware.

    P.S.S. - I'm using a Windows 7 32-bit with iTunes 9.0.2 and iPod Touch 3.1.2.

    1) Try re-running blackra1n. It might work.

    2) Put it in DFU mode, and just click restore. iTunes will get a fresh 3.1.2 for your device.

    1) Tried

    2) Tried without clicking shift and finding the .ipsw and with shift. Doesn't work.

Any other solutions, before I give it to an apple store or something? Also I have a question - is it traceable that it was partly jailbroken, if I give it to them now?

Yes it was in DFU mode - turn the iPod off and hold the sleep and home button for 10 seconds, then let go sleep button and keep pushing home button for another 10 seconds = DFU mode.

Also I tried everything on that - expect on a XP machine or a MAC - but those I have not access to.

Also, how would they find that it is jailbroken, when they can't see anything than the Connect to iTunes page. Also I thought that if you restored, all traces of jailbreak would be gone.

But I expect that jailbreak is on there, because I re-jailbroke it, which didn't work and f***ed it up, and can't restore. So yea. Maybe you're right.

    But what can I do?

    Error 6?
You're in DFU mode if you say you are, so do me a quick favor. (however, you may not be in true DFU mode.)
    Try restarting your computer.
iTunes troubleshooting states it works, and it worked for me when I had Error 6.
Restart your computer, put the iPod in DFU mode, and retry the restore.
    There's 2 other options.

    1) Use a different computer. 90% chance that'll work.
    2) Use Ziphone to force it out of recovery mode

So, restart my computer put it in DFU mode and restore? Tried.
    1) Used a laptop with Vista on - same result.
    2) What's that?

    Here, try this.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275?viewlocale=en_US
Has error 6 on it, Apple's troubleshooting guide.
ZiPhone can be found on Google very easily.
