ipod touch 7gb?

    on Itunes my ipod info says my ipod is 7gb.
    is this a software fault?

    even in cydia he says 7g in storage

    That's normal. My 32GB iPod and iPad both report the capacity being 29GB.

    It's to hold the things in it, the software that makes it run.

    Nope, after the disk format there is some space taken, the OS and default apps take space also

    You have to take into account commercial gigabytes (1000 mega bytes) where as actual gigabytes are (1024 mega bytes), also the OS and default apps installed.

    Its a b*tch really. When I had my 4Gb iPod Mini I could only use about 3 and a half. And with only 4Gb you can't afford to lose 13% of your memory! Its something I wish people would solve, some way of making it mean you actually have 4, 8, 16Gb or whatever available to use. But I doubt it will
