My iPod touch 4th gen was recharged at around 52 hours ago and was mostly on standby for the whole time. At this point my battery bar is showing about 25-30% battery life. Why is my battery dying so quickly?

Mine barely lasts a day. 52 hours is great battery life. If you don't like it, turn off wifi.

My iPod 1st and 3rd Gen can last for almost a week on standby easy.

Would having Wifi on even though there is no connection available still drain life?

Yes... The iPod will still keep searching for SSIDs it could connect to.

And was your 3G on 4.x?

Did it last a week with WiFi on on 4.0? I really find that hard to believe with persistent WiFi. It would die within 3 days.

To be honest I didn't really test the battery with or w/o wifi. Sometimes it was on sometimes it was off....so you think that my battery is normal?

Yes, it is normal. I can guarantee that. Mine loses 20% while I sleep... But it's connected to WiFi (Which stays on for half an hour after you put it to sleep+A Fetch schedule)...
