Whenever my iPod autolocks after 1 minute, my wifi disconnects when i unlock it. The wifi icon is still there, but my IM apps like Windows Live Messenger and Facebook disconnects. Also when I try to load pages in Safari, it says 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding'
The only way i could connect back is to turn off WIFI and turn it back on.

My iPod is an iPod Touch 4G, with iOS 4.1.

    How do i fix this?

I'm pretty sure the first issue is just how the iPod works.

Please elaborate on the second issue.

The Safari bit is linked with the WIFI issue, it only occurs when the WIFI disconnects with the icon still there. So this is how the iPod works now?

I thought it stays on, due to push and all that. It should stay connected on lock screen.

ya thats what it is. Its not a iPod Problem nor a iPod Touch 4G problem. Its what they decided to do in iOS 4.

Insomnia (Cydia App) fixed that issue in bold for me in iOS 4.0

My WiFi does the same thing while I'm using my iPod, it's quite the piss off.

It should stay on, all it's supposed to, to await incoming facetime calls, push notifications and messages from stuff like WLM.

Isn't that like a push notification problem?

its normal for it to do that. Apple is one of the best when it comes to Idle standby battery on their iphones and this is one of the reasons for it.

You can get insomnia on cydia to disable that
