    Another poll about battery life:

first make sure you have done at least 4 full charge/dicharge cycles to make sure that doesn't affect results.

According to the Apple the ipod touch 4g should charge 80% in 2 hours. This means that in 30 minutes the device should charge about 20% so assuming your ipod touch died with 15% battery life remaining, the device should have no more than 35% charge after 30mins.

Keeping this in mind, after 30 minutes of charging is

    1) your iPod 4G significantly charged to a higher percentage than it should be?

    2) your iPod 4g does not seem appear to charge significantly faster than then its specifications.

    The big text is... big.

Apple charging doesn't work that way, a half hour of charging will bring it to about 50%, but will only last about 40 minutes. it charges really quickly up to around 8-%, then all the juice is stuffed into that 90-100%.

But, 2 hours of charging will bring it to about 75-80%... it just won't last so long.

Thats the way that lithium batteries are charged. They are charged at a set voltage, and the amps are decreased as it becomes more charged.

The rate of the charge (charge per time; charge/time) follows an exponential decay graph. That is, the charge starts out really fast, but slows down over time until 100% is met.
