I got my iPod touch 4 the other day, and today I tried out FaceTime , after one video chat the top of my iPod (near the back camera and upwards) was hot , I could still touch it, but it was still kinda hot , after letting it cool down and then re-chatting it did the same thing, it just keeps getting hot..
Is this normal? Who else is experiencing it??
Will the iPods be recalled ??

It is the battery, it is normal to do that while chargng but not on facetime. It may be a defected battery

Mine got hot when I was playing complex 3D games. I think it's normal, the processor is working pretty hard.

News flash: Devices get hot when worked intensively and we get a local scientist to answer is steel a good heat conductor compared to glass? More at 11.

I'm sorry. Had to do it.

^ yes but glass (the iPhone back is girrila glass doesn't get hot as fast and the iPhone is thicker so it has better ventilation
