My iPod has been playing up recently. It started with just not docking properly with my alarm clock (the screen on the iPod would usually turn off, but it started to stay on), to freezing entirely if I try to dock it. And now the accelerometer is very intermittent.

I'm still within my year warranty with Dixons and Apple. Is it worth throwing it in now before it expires (January)? Or would a simple restore fix this? The accelerometer problem suggests something hardware related may have gone wrong.

What I don't want to happen is the Apple/Dixons dude to look at it and think "Pfft, he blatantly just wants a refund so he can get a 4G" (which would be nice, but isn't my intent here), and then not do anything with it.

    Ta for any help

    Use the 4 Rs:

    Restart
    Re-Sync
    Restore
Return to the apple store for a Replacement.

R's 1 and 2 have already been done. R 3 is such a huge pain in the ass, but I guess I could do that before I call Apple
