Just jailbreaked my ipod touch 2g 32gb, Didn't like it too much because it was tethered. Hate the thought of rebooting it everytime it runs out of battery or just being turned off. So i was wondering can i just restore it back to the original apple ipod? I can wait for the untethered jailbreak to come out. Can someone help me Please. And also do i have to use the same PC that i jailbreaked my ipod with? Thanks.

    It's easy, follow these steps:
    1. Go here and download the correct firmware for your device: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...0091008.Tch23/iPod3,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw
    2. Then Go Into Itunes
    3. Plug in your iTouch
    4. Click on "Restore" on the page where it says how much stuff is on your ipod etc...
    5. Select the .ipsw file you just downloaded
    6. Wait for it to Restore
    7. Bam your done

Note: iPod touch 3G firmware links from Apple servers are ok. I replaced the previous link with a direct link to 3.1.2 for the 3G.

Thankyou. I was thinking of doing that but thought it might be better to give a link to that site because if other people see what I wrote they might download the wrong file and mess it up etc...

No, it shouldn't matter what PC you use.
If your computer won't recognise it, then try holding down the home and power buttons at the same time for a while(10-20 seconds, im not sure) and then it should show a connect to itunes screen!

Ok so i restored my ipod. But i didnt use the link above. All i did was plug in my ipod and itunes popped up, and then i just restored it. Is anything going to go wrong at this point? Can i still jailbreak it when the untethered version comes out? Help.. thanks.
