I need some help getting DVD's loaded to my Touch. Is the Touch ready to receive downloads from DVD's without any add ons? Is their a trick to it? I am a computer illiterate but I would think it is not it too difficult. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jeff

It involves breaking the encryption which is illegal under the DMCA, but "everybody does it".

You basically need to get the video off the disc into a resolution and codec the ipod can handle.

Depending on how new the disc encryption is you could use Handbrake - if Handbrake fails, you could use DVDFab, free version to rip DVD and then do as you will from there. People also use AnyDVD in the chain along with a ripper as it decrypts DVDs and is updated frequently (not free).

Videora is also another free alternative for encoding (not ripping).

To summarize - you need to get video off DVD (ripping) and into a format for the ipod (recoding, encoding).
