So since new jailbreak will be released, I think that will downgrade my iPod 3G 3.1.2 to older version.

But I am not sure if it is possible and what I can loose with older firmware. Knows someone main difference ?
The older firmware which was jailbreaken is last from 2G firmwares, isn't ?

What do you think, it's good idea or not?! I want install 3rd party applications, but I don't want to have iPod nonstop turned on...

To start off i am guessing you have an ipod touch 3rd gen
    ok

1st you cannot downgrade the 3rd gen ipod to anything lower than fw 3.1

2nd firmware/software has nothing to do with the fact your ipod is tethered, meaning you have to run the jailbreak program after every reboot

3rd The problem lies in the hardware, since apple changed the ipod boot room to patch the 24kpwn exploit used for untethered jailbreaks

    Bottom line
NO, you CANNOT downgrade your ipod to anything lower than fw 3.1, and even if you could no firmware will allow you to hack the new boot room. Your best bet is to wait until a new jailbreak tool releases either in march or june

I have an Untethered jailbreak, and hardly turn my ipod off, i don't see the need to turn it off, as it takes time and consumes battery. You only need to turn your ipod off if you are not going to use it for a long period of time, for which a tethered jailbreak shouldn't bother you

Thank you very much! Sorry for my "stupid" question, I read a lot about jailbreak 3.1.2 and I find out that 2G could be jailbreaked. But I never could find information about downgrade.

Your question wasn't stupid. Some people on this forum just have a holier than thou attitude. They are easy enough to ignore. Kids mostly, I think.
