    Heeeyy,

I'm new to the forums, so hello.

I bought an iPod touch in Noveber 09. So I'm assuming it's the 3rd generation but I'm not sure. But I'm running the 3.1.2 firmware.

Here is what I did, and it doesn't seem to have worked.

    1. I jailbroke my iPod touch with Blackra1n. No problems.

    2. Once Blackra1n was on, I downloaded Cydia. No problems. Then I reboot Cydia, because it told me to.

    3. Cydia is all sucessful, then I go to download SBSettings, and it downloads, and after downloading it tells me to reboot my iPod, so I do. But then when it's booting back up, it tells me to plug my iPod into iTunes and goes into "recovery mode" which then forces me to restore.

So what's my problem, and what do I do? I thought it was supposed to be easy.

I've tried the "hold the power and home button for 10 seconds", doesnt' work for me...

So some advice would be awesome.

    Thank-you.

    -Isaac

EDIT: By the way, I'm on Windows Vista. I'm going to try it on XP, because I've read that might have an affect on it.

EDIT AGAIN: I tried it on Windows XP, no luck. Unless someone can help, I'm just going to have it non-jailbroken.

I believe you can rerun the jailbreak don't restore just blackra1n. Also you will have to plug your device in to your computer due to the act there is no complete jailbreak for 3g. Also if you have two lines of text on the back of your ipod than it's a 3g but if you have 4 it's a 2g.

This is what happened to me..except I downloaded winterboard..

i was about to ask for help too..but while I was typing this..I just went into DFU mode while I was running blackra1n..It said "Waiting for Device"
When I went into DFU mode it worked again...

    So yeah..

Try holding down the home and sleep button for about 7-10 sec. until the screen goes black while running blackra1n, meaning When you double click blackra1n it says "Waiting for Device" go into DFU Mode...

    I'm using 8gb 2.5/3g iPod Touch...

    lolz..that was very confusing.

yeah i believe i've read somewhere that rebooting your device unjailbreaks the ipod (has something to do with the fact that blackra1n is a tethered jb)

but i can reboot as much as i want and nothing changes, so i guess it is possible to reboot your ipod while jb'd with blackra1n.

so i'm sorry, but i can't help you

It's probably because you have a 3rd Gen...
The 3rd Gen JB is tethered, which basically
means any time you turn it off, reboot it you
will need to plug it in to your computer and
    'make it ra1n' again(Run Blackra1n).
This will boot up the iPod, still jailbroken
and still with your content on it

As you have a 3rd gen iPod, it has a tethered jailbreak, meaning when rebooting, plug it into your computer, and run Blackra1n.
