Yeah, I don't have much time and am just looking for an answer... so, as of now, is the Iphone 3.0 update for Iphone only, or is it for the ipod touch 2nd generation (2.2.1) also?

And another question... I jailbroke my ipod with RedSn0w, so if I update to 3.0, will my Ipod become un-jailbroken? And if the ipod is updated to 3.0, will I lose all data on the Ipod?

Last question: Is there any method to "unjailbreaking" an Ipod without restoring it to factory settings/losing all memory/data?

    1. 3.0 is available for all devices.

    2. It will unjailbreak your ipod. Be sure to NOT restore from backup when prompted, if you don't want problems.

    3. No.

Well, if you were jailbroken and used Categories, then you could have some missing apps. Also when you don't restore from backup, performance gets a boost normally.

It will unjailbreak it, and remove any data associated with your jailbreak. But your music, movies, whatevr should be there.

When you say it will remove any Jailbreaking data, I know that:
-It removes cydia, installer, and winterboard
    -Custom themes will be deleted
-With backgrounder and catagories still work? Or must i delete/remove all catagories?

    Etc. Etc. Elaborate pleae?

Ok, when I say unjailbreak, I mean that
    • Any apps that you got from Cydia, Installer, etc. will be gone.
    • Cydia, Installer will be deleted.
    • Categories will be gone. Any apps (even if they came with the iPod, like Stocks, Notes, or Settings, will be gone if they are still in Catrgories.

So, in other words, ANYTHING related to your Jailbreak will be gone. Also, if you do upgrade, when it asks if you want to set up iPod from backup, decline, and set up as a new iPod. Got it?
