    Hi guys,

Today i have installed in my ipod touch (1st gen) the 3.0 beta 4 firmware throw xcode, but i get a purple screen with itunes logo (i think is PSOD). iTunes detect it always in recovery mode, and when i try to restore i get an error. If i try to restore from xcode, i get an error to.

What can I do?? (I'm a registred developer)

PS: I'm tried to restore from iTunes 8.1.1 and from iTunes pre-release 8.2.

Sad, this almost always happens with installing through xcode. You need to use iTunes 8.2 beta or something.

... DFU MODE, then iTunes 8.2. Just go to 2.2.1...............

How can i do this? In the pre-installation advisory apple says:

By installing iPhone OS 3.0 beta software on your Authorized Test Devices, these Devices are permanently “locked” into testing mode and cannot be restored to an earlier release of iPhone OS.

I restored to 2.2.1 on a Windows computer through iTunes 8.1 just fine.
P.S. Pink Screen of F??? It's Pink Screen of Death. Not sure what you though it was?

I writed my post to fast, sorry for my bad english i'm from spain.

I'm trying to restore to 2.2.1 from a windows virtual machine with VMware fusion, if i can't, i'll try to do this with a native windows pc.

I think i'll wait until 3.0 official release to start developing 3.0 apps.

Edit: Ok, restore to 2.2.1 from windows virtual machine with itunes 8.2 has failed. Now trying to restore to 3.0 beta from iTunes 8.2 from windows VM. The iPod screen has changed to the apple logo with the progress bar, but iTunes still shows the Preparing iPod to restore message.

Edit 2: The iPod cannot be restored, error 1603

That's normal. The purple indicates it's a beta build of a firmware. It's intentionally done.
