Try buying it and if it doesn't than return it. I'm pretty sure docking stations work on both or look up some information about the specific docking station you want.

i was wondering the same thing, what are good sound systems that are relatively cheap for the ipod touch 2g. My uncle had a dock and it wouldn't charge my ipod... what's the reason for this?

I bought the Jensen JiMS-525 HD / AM / FM clock radio at Target. It charges my iPod Touch 2G and has other bonuses, including being able to hook up additional speakers, playing video from the iPod to the TV, and receiving HD radio signals. It also supports iTunes tagging, so if you hear a song on the radio you like, you push a button and your iPod remembers, offering you to purchase it later when you sync to iTunes. I haven't tried this, as I usually listen to Pandora. It was $100.
