    [HELP!]Ipod Touch 2G Wifi Problems/Possible Hardware Defect

I have problems with my ipod touch's wifi.
The problem is after a while my touch's been running, it loses its wifi detection (Usually after waking from standby), and does not detect any network until a reboot. This happened to me before jailbreaking and after on 2.2.1. This is particularly annoying because i have to reboot my touch through my laptop using the arm boot method and doing that 2 times a day annoys me.

Strange. My problem is somewhat similar. My iPod Touch is not jailbroken and has had 'no' special issues until recently. When I turn it on...it shows 'no wifi connection' at all. When I click on my home one...nothing is in there including the 26 digit security code. I have to reenter all the data and then it works. Just freaky.

I don't have to enter any passwords at all, the wifi just seems to suddenly "malfunction" and requires a reboot to kick start the wireless.

I just checked the Apple site. We could try a soft reset (home button/on-off) for ten seconds. Then a formal 'in the settings' reset of the wi-fi (but then your entering in your info again). Finally, a formal 'restore'. Seems like a pain to fix this around. I am not entering in a 26 digit code everyday.

i understand ur frustration with the arm boot method.. yeah its annoying.. but i would recommend downloading 1clickboot. it has a dfu mode helper, incase u don't like doing that (but it seems ur good with DFU mode), and then it will run the patch again for u. its a very nice tool, and it takes about 30 seconds to do. maybe even less.

I've tried it with tons of routers, the device simply goes "blind" and won't detect a thing.

ok, here's an idea. why not just restore to 2.2
if you want the jailbreak, just make a custom 2.2 f/w.
    the jailbreak
