so the other day i dropped my ipod touch into a cup of water on accident. it was on when i dropped it in so i dont know what to do. after i dropped it in i immediately took it out after about 2 seconds and used a blow dryer on it. my ipod touch is jailbroken and the water sensor is half white and half pink. it is currently sitting in my room in a bag of rice. right now if i try to turn on my ipod i get nothing. anyone got any suggestions on what to do???

You may have to leave in the rice for at least a few days. Don't rush it.

    Sorry for your loss.

i said this the other day in a different thread and got no real response to it BUT ...

what if you just swap water sensors with a friend who DIDN'T drop his iPod in a cup of water?

sounds like a solid suggestion to me

hmmm ya thats possible but how exactly would u swap the sensors? and i cant turn my ipod on to restore it so i dont think apple will accept it even if the water sensor wasnt pink because my ipods jailbroken

Sounds like a solid misdemeanor to me.

EDIT: IF you didn't catch my arguably poor reference to the United States legal system, fraud is illegal and cannot be discussed here. (swapping water sensors to get a undeserved repair like you mentioned is indeed fraud)

i dunno, i've never even SEEN the sensor myself

never had occasion to crack the case open thankfully, just sounded like a good idea

you dont have to open the case to see the sensor. you shine a flashlight down the headphon jack and there is the sensor at the bottom of it its a little white circle if your ipod hasnt been water damaged and it turns half pink when water comes in contact with it
