Hi, I am still using a 2.2.1 firmware on my ipod touch 2g...i havent upgraded to 3 yet cause i got some questions about it.
The most important query is this. IF i upgrade my ipod, my baseband will upgrade to the newer version and there is no turning back from that right ? Even if i want to downgrade to 2.2.1 after, my baseband will be stuck to the 3.0's baseband. Am i right ?

If yes what are the ups and downs of that ?

    Thanks.

It does not matter at all for the iPod touch. Baseband is only important if you have a phone like the iPhone 3G(S) and if you are planning on unlocking it. So you are safe to upgrade. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

yh, you are safe to upgrade. The ipt2g does not have a baseband, if you want to downgrade there are guides in the firmware 3.0 section
