So I was using categories today and when i closed it it wouldnt respring automaticly and my ipod froze and after some time it got black screen. I wasnt home so when i finally got home i wanted to boot it but when i plugged it in my computer there was no popup that would say that my ipod is not recognized and when i tried getting into DFU mode it just wouldnt - heres what i do :
Plug ipod into computer , open my clock , open 1clickboot , hold power and home 10 seconds , holding home until usually a usb connection sound comes up but i couldnt hear anything and 1clickboot couldnt find an ipod in DFU mode ( im not doing anything wrong - i checked everything and done it 10 times now )
    I would appreciate any help!
    Thx

Make sure the Ipod is off. Then plug it into your computer. Put it into DFU mode, and once it is in DFU mode, THEN run 1clickboot program. It should work.

Hold the power button, if nothing happens, I'm guessing its off. When you plug it in, Then do the classic DFU mode instructions. Hold both power and home until you hear the sound, then just hold home until you hear another sound. Then run 1clickboot. Make sure you are putting it into DFU mode correctly.

It doesnt work - When i usually plug my ipod into my computer a popup shows up on the lower right corner saying it couldnt recognize my ipod but when i plug it in now nothing happens - can i force it to shutdown and put it into DFU mode using my computer only?

That ^ or it's dead...Plug it in for about 30 minutes, sometime PC's don't charge them when they are completely dead, so try that then go into DFU mode...

just adding....This can be done by plugging into a different usb port on another machine such as an Xbox 360.
