Long story short I've got a 2g ipod touch that has water damage. Restored it with iTunes to v 2.2.1 and it would reboot constantly. Put v3.0 on it and now it'll boot find but the touch screen doesn't work anymore making the device basically uselses. New screens and/or digitizers are available on eBay all day long, my question is since the screen looks great (as in no dead pixels and what not) the touch part just doesn't work, do I need to replace the screen or the digitizer?

    Thanks in advance.

you should have never turned it back on after the water damage.

but try this, turn your iPod touch off and put in a dry place (eg. Atacama Desert or a bag of rice) and let it dry then boot up again.

note this process will take about a week to fully work.

The water thing happened like a month ago or better. I let it sit in a bowl of dry uncooked rice to try and absorb the water out of it for about 3 days. Can you actually turn it off w/ the touchscreen not working?
