Remember that timing is crucial to putting your iPod in DFU mode.

    Just follow these steps:

MAKE SURE ALL WINDOWS' SOUNDS ARE TURNED ON, AND VOLUME AND SPEAKERS TURNED UP

    1. Hold power button, and hold home button for EXACTLY 9 seconds. Nine.
    2. ON THE #9, LET GO of the power button.
    3. Keep holding the home button!!!
    4. If you don't hear the windows USB recognition sound within 10 seconds (it will seem like forever, be patient), repeat these steps.

Remember that it might be possible your iPod's battery is dead. Let it charge for an hour then try it again.

Don't worry: It is technically impossible to brick your iPod by jailbreaking it: geting in DFU can be scary if you can't get it the first time. JUST KEEP TRYING!

Any questions, PM me or reply!

if it says it can't recognize it or it malfunctioned, thats normal

it just means it not in dfu mode

well it's also happenned to me, i was so panic too but i can handle it by open the itunes and restore it again with your firmware.. so just be calm because it's 100% safety to jailbreak and there is no risk at all...
