Ipod touch 2G Jailbreak 3.0 with redsn0w and how-to tutorial Step 1: if your already ver. 3.0 go to step 2... Get the official 3.0 firmware, without it will not work. You need to “restore” your Ipod touch 2G to the latest firmware to do this: Connect your Ipod, Open iTunes, hold SHIFT and press 'Check for Update' or 'Restore' It is important to understand the difference between "update" and "restore". Update simply installs the software that controls iPod and does not affect the songs and files stored on iPod's disk. Restore erases the iPod's disk and restores iPod to its original factory condition. Select the appropriate firmware file (3.0). Update takes about 15 minutes. Step 2: Download redsn0w from any Dev-Team blog link or the link below http://blog.iphone-dev.org (i will also attach this file on this post) http://www.[PIRACY.mf].com/?shareke...82ed4b8f0c380db5ddffbb5c8b09fb8eada0a1ae8665a Step 3: Extract the files Step 4: Locate your IPSW file for 3.0. It should be located at C:\Users\*USERNAME8\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates (or any download folder if you downloaded it). Step 5: Copy this file into the redsnow folder on your desktop Step 6: Put your iPod into DFU mode and connect it to iTunes. To enter DFU mode, turn your ipod off and then hold the lock and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the lock button while holding the home button. iTunes should say your ipod is in DFU mode and needs to restore, just ignore it and move on to step 7 Step 7: Follow the onscreen instructions & Let it do its thing Step 8: Enjoy, you are done. Note: if it ever freezes or shuts down. Just unplug, reset (hold both buttons), and try again.
