hey i have a ipod touch 2g and the internet has never worked on it. i tried connecting to my home wireless internet and it's not working. usually, for my home wireless internet, for the server i have to put 4.2.2.1 or 4.2.2.2 i put 4.2.2.1 and it says safari cannot load page or something like that. 4.2.2.1 will usually work because i did that on my xbox so i could play xbox live. and then i tried 4.2.2.2 and it connects to the wifi but then it just keeps tryin to load the page and then it never finishes.

What are your security settings on your router? I don't think the iPod Touch supports WPA2. I had to change mine to WPA (AES) for it to work.

My router has WPA2 and my ipod touch 2g works fine with it.

Let the ipod get the IP address, i manually did the address and it never worked, as soon i set it to auto, it worked.

Only if they use MAC filtering, which I doubt he/she is doing. Try rebooting everything and turning wifi on/off again, etc. Good luck.

The iPod touch does indeed support WPA2-secured networks.

Have you tried that renew lease option? It worked for my friend who had a very similar problem like you.
